Follow-up comment rss or Leave a TrackbackFirst ever favourite player of mine when I was a young kid. He’s one of the best players ever. If he would have played a full career in ther NHL rather than starting at age 2, he would likely be in the top 5 scorers of all time. My Uncle ( Ron Lapointe ) coached him in Quebec for a season in the late 80s.
MOSSELS!
Peter Stastny was my favorite player growing up. I was too young to understand how good he really was, but I remember very well he was dominating.
wow!!
i miss that too. i was only 13 yo when they moved, i was at their last game in québec. that rivalry splitted families.
remember montreal vs. quebec in 1980-onward — peter is HOF period. I miss the quebec/montreal (good times!) -phil hartman
@PavelGaborik10 yes
Your talking NHL players right? lol
can you imagine if he played out west against LA, Winnapeg, Edmonton, Vancouver, 8 times each. I think Gretztky would have had some competition in the scoring race. he played in the most defensive divisions in hockey. The Adams. Period! Boston, Montreal, Buffalo were all defensive style teams. People need to know this. The same with Rick Middleton.
Rarement on aura vu un joueur aussi complet ds la NLH.!
Gros, fort, rapide, habile; il dominait ds tous les aspects du jeu. Il a également pavé la voie à tous les joueurs européens. Et ce gars-là, on l’avait à Québec! Incroyable!
05:37 Wow!
He was my favourite player growing up. Then, after he left, I couldn’t help but compare him and Forsberg.
He don´t born at Bratislava but he born in small village about Povazska Bystrica
smejem sa na takych ktory to vsetko prekladaju do anglictiny ako by to nejakeho Anglicana zaujmalo
I skated with Peter on a Friday night pickup game back in the early 90’s at Sportorama in Monsey, NY. He was looking for some friends… but had the wrong date so he asks if he can skate with us. What fun. I skated against him at center and didnt win a faceoff all night. Great stick handler. After practice, we all went down the road to Sutters for a couple beers. A night the NJ Warriors will never forget. A classy guy and player and watching the old video I didn’t remember how fast he was.
i was also born in czechoslovakia so the fact is that im from czechoslovakia?no im from slovakia you have to learn some political and historical meanings…peter stastny was born in state called czechoslovakia but he was from the main part of czechoslovakia called slovakia, today slovak republic…im from slovakia, peter stastny is from slovakia, stan mikita is from slovakia
i wish that one day quebbec will return to nhl…!
Stasny was one of the most magnificent European players beside Jagr,Kurri,Sundin,Hasek,Kaspariitis and Federov
The thing that stricks me throughout this video and especially when he talks about his induction into the HHOF is his humility.
TRUE LEGEND!!!
yes, of course, when he grow up 10 kilometres to my hometown
Najlepsi Slovensky hokejista vsetkych cias dakujeme pan Stastny .
I’m not sure if he was a better player than Stan Mikita but both were tremendous Slovak. players. Each are in the Hall of Fame. Stastny was second in scoring behind Gretzky throughout the 80’s. That’s how good he was. I wish I could have watched Stan Mikita and the Stastny brothers play.Slovakia has always had great snipers. I saw some of Bondra’s years with the Caps. But today I’m grateful to be watching two of the most skilled offensive players in the game on Center Ice. Hossa and Gaborik.
i dont hate them but i will be the hapiest men on the earth if one day the nordiques beat the avs in the stanley cup finals
